Terms of Use
Alfred’s Bar is a personal bartender for adults who enjoy a drink made well. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.
1. Who can use Alfred’s Bar
Alfred’s Bar is published by Filipe Kotleski Moreira, an individual developer based in Brazil (“we”, “us”). It is for adults of legal drinking age where they live. By using it, you confirm that you are.
2. What Alfred’s Bar is
Alfred’s Bar suggests drinks from the ingredients you have and the tastes you share, and guides you through making them. Recipes, suggestions, Taste Match and descriptions are for information and enjoyment. Taste Match is an indication of fit, not a promise that you’ll like a drink.
3. Drink responsibly
- Alcohol affects everyone differently. Alfred’s Bar is about taste and craft, never quantity: enjoy one drink well made, and alternate with water.
- Don’t drink if you are under the legal drinking age, pregnant or trying to become pregnant, taking medication that interacts with alcohol, or about to drive or operate machinery. Never drink and drive.
- If drinking is becoming a problem for you, talk to a doctor or a local support service.
- Zero-proof drinks are always available in the app, and zero-proof mode shows only drinks without alcoholic ingredients.
4. Recipes and information
- We work to keep recipes accurate. The official IBA cocktails are checked against the International Bartenders Association’s specifications, and other recipes cite published sources. Mistakes can still happen; if you spot one, please tell us.
- Check every ingredient for allergies and intolerances. Recipes may contain eggs (including raw egg white), dairy, nuts, gluten, citrus or other allergens. Ingredients and brands you buy may differ from those described.
- Strength labels such as “Light”, “Strong” and “Zero-proof” are approximate guides, not measurements. A zero-proof drink in Alfred’s Bar contains no alcoholic ingredient as listed, but some shop-bought mixers can contain traces of alcohol, so check their labels.
- Alfred’s Bar does not give medical, nutritional or health advice.
5. Acceptable use
Alfred’s Bar is for your personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t:
- use it to serve, sell or supply alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age, or in any other way that breaks the law;
- copy, scrape or republish the catalog, descriptions, photographs or illustrations, in whole or in substantial part;
- reverse engineer, modify or interfere with the app, except where the law allows it;
- use our name, Alfred or our artwork in a way that suggests we endorse something we don’t.
6. Your information
Your bar, preferences, ratings and collection are stored on your iPhone, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export a backup at any time. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility: we can’t recover data that only existed on a lost or reset phone.
7. Our content
- The recipes as presented, descriptions, methods, drink photographs, illustrations, including the character Alfred, and the design of the app and this website belong to us or are licensed to us. You may use them only within the app and this website, for your personal use.
- Drink photographs and illustrations are original images created for Alfred’s Bar.
- Alfred’s Bar is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the International Bartenders Association or any drinks brand. Product and brand names are used only to identify ingredients and belong to their owners.
8. Paid features
Alfred’s Bar does not sell anything yet. If we offer paid features in the future, their price, billing period and any trial will be shown in the app before you buy, purchases will be handled by Apple, and these terms will be updated before they are offered.
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep Alfred’s Bar accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”, and we may change, improve or discontinue features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
10. Apple and the App Store
If you download Alfred’s Bar from the App Store, your licence to use it is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available on Apple’s website. These terms apply alongside it and cover drinking responsibly, recipe information, acceptable use and our content. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it; support is provided by us at [email protected].
11. Changes and ending use
If we change these terms, we’ll update the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in the app. You can stop using Alfred’s Bar at any time by deleting it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. If you use Alfred’s Bar as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and nothing in these terms limits your right to bring a claim in the courts those laws allow.
